Customizing Columns on the Feature Request List
By default, your feature request page is set up with the following columns: “Feature Request”, “Feedback”, “MRR”, “Status”, “Priority”, and “Effort”.
You can customize these to better suit your workflow. In this article, we explain how. We’ll cover:
Why change the columns on the feature request page?
This feature is handy in several circumstances:
-
You want to hide some of the columns that come by default; for example, Status, Priority, or Effort.
-
You want to show attributes in the column that are not visible by default.
-
You want to quickly view the total of a numeric attribute. For example, you may want to see the total lost deal MRR for each feature request.
How to add columns on your feature request page
1. Log into Savio and click your name in the top right corner. Select “Settings” from the drop-down menu.
2. Scroll down to the “Manage Feature Request List Columns” box and click “Manage columns”.
3. Click the “Feature Request List Columns” dropdown for a number of column options. Choose the column you would like to display. Then click “Display This Column”.
Now that column will now be displayed on the feature request page.
Note:
-
“Is Public” comes as is a built-in column. It tells you whether a feature is on your public voting board or not.
-
You can also choose from the list of people or company attributes. Choose the ones that matter to you.
Numeric attributes in columns
Columns displaying numeric attributes will total the numeric value for the feature request. For example, if you choose to display the “Lost Deal MRR” attribute, the column will display the total lost deal MRR for each feature request. The value will be the sum of the total up the MRR of each person who requested that feature and ultimately did not purchase your product.
Note: Lost deal MRR is not a stock attribute—we’ve customized our Savio vault to include it. We’ll explain how to do this in a future article.
How to edit column names on your feature request page
You can also edit the name of each column. To do it,
1. Click your name in the top right corner and select “Settings” from the drop-down menu.
2. Scroll down to the “Manage Feature Request List Columns” box and click “Manage columns”.
3. Hover your cursor over a column name and click the edit icon.
4. Edit the “Display name” field and click “Save Column”.
Now, you’ll see the new name displayed on the feature request page.
How to hide columns on your feature request page
You can choose to hide columns from your feature request page. To do it,
1. Click your name in the top right corner and select “Settings” from the drop-down menu.
2. Scroll down to the “Manage Feature Request List Columns” box and click “Manage columns”.
3. Click the “Hide” beside the column you would like to hide from view.
Now that column will be hidden from view.
