Hide vote counts to collect unbiased product feedback
Popularity and vote counts have no bearing on whether a person needs a feature - showing votes biases people to vote for popular features. Hide your votes, and display features in random, alphabetical, or most votes to least - it's your choice.
Why is this important?
When you show voters the popular features on your feature request board, top features tend to get more popular (this is called the "herd behavior effect"). Which means you're using a heavily biased input to decide what to build... which means you're getting lower ROI on your dev team spend than you could be.
So... I can show or hide votes?
That's right. We hide votes on our board. But it's up to you.
What order are features displayed in?
You can choose - alphabetical order, from most votes to least, or randomly.
